Following their controversial draw in September of last year, Gennady Golovkin Vs Canelo Alvarez the rematch has been officially announced, as expected, May 5th will be the date they do it all over again.
The venue is yet to be confirmed but it is rumoured, New York, Las Vegas, and Texas are all being considered as locations for the rematch.
All eyes will be on the judges this time around following controversial scoring in the last bout, most felt Golovkin had won the fight but with a 118-110 scorecard being returned by judge Adalaide Byde in favour of Canelo Alvarez, a sour taste was felt across the sport and the accusations of corruption reared its ugly head once more.
Otherwise, the first fight was an absolutely thrilling battle contested between the Kazakhstani Gennady Golovkin and Mexican Canelo Alvarez and it has been one fight most fans had been hoping would be announced for 2018.
Both fighters are of course promising victory by knockout this time around.
