In Tijuana, Mexico, Humberto Soto and Brandon Rios went toe to toe in a thrilling contest over twelve rounds last night, former super featherweight and lightweight titlist Soto who is nicknamed the Crafty Little Fox outboxed and out-landed Rios for a majority of the fight, showing even at 38 years old, the veteran still has something left.
Rios who still had ambitions of becoming a two-weight world champion coming into the fight following a decision to come out of retirement in 2017, kept coming forward but it wasn’t enough to prevent Soto claiming a wide points victory on the judge’s scorecards of 118-112, 118-112, 119-111.

Rios has now lost 5 of his last 9 contests and is 2 wins and 2 losses since coming out of retirement in 2017, it is hard to see where he goes from here and any chance of a world title seem a million miles away.
Soto who claimed this fight could be his last may be encouraged to go on for a little while longer.
