In an exhilarating fight at Madison Square Garden, New York, Vasyl Lomachenko overcame his toughest test to date of his professional career to stop Jorge Linares in 10 rounds to make history and become a three weight world champion in just 12 professional fights.
Linares did not give up his title easily, many spectators had Linares ahead at the time of the stoppage and the judges at ringside had it even, Linares also inflicted Lomachenko’s first knockdown of his career, dropping the Ukranian in the sixth round as the video below captures.

However, Lomachenko was not to be denied and in the tenth round landed a brutal body shot which stopped Linares and gave Lomachenko has own piece of history and further cemented his legacy as one of the best fighters of a generation.
