Following his controversial draw with Deontay Wilder in Los Angeles, Tyson Fury made a return to the US to make his Las Vegas debut with an impressive display of movement and punching precision against undefeated German Tom Schwarz. This was also Fury’s first fight under his new promotional banner of Top Rank/ESPN.

Schwarz who was 24-0 unbeaten prior to the fight was a fairly unknown quantity, however, was considered more a tune-up fight to enable Fury to re-establish himself and sharpen his tools further, ahead of an inevitable rematch with Deontay Wilder.

However, the contest would prove to be a complete mismatch with Fury showing a devastating display of foot and head movement, punching precision that dissected the German in no time at all, it was difficult to believe that it was only 18 months or so ago that Fury was walking around at nearly 30 stone,

Regardless of the level of opposition, this was an extremely impressive performance that showed that there is little in the heavyweight division that can match the Gypsy King for overall movement and boxing IQ. He can also sing a little too as the American fans found out again.

So what next for the Gypsy King? Well according to his post-fight interview he will have another fight in New York this year, then he will be hunting down the Deontay Wilder rematch, which apparently has already been signed for spring 2020.
